Our Story

Prajit Nanu, Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Nium, grew up
in the bustling streets of Mumbai with a very serious case of the “entrepreneurial bug.” To be a true business architect takes gumption, and let’s just say that our Founder has gumption in abundance.

Whilst on holiday in Thailand, Prajit realized how difficult it was to transfer money internationally. It got him thinking. Like, seriously thinking.

Freshly out of ”holiday mode” and barely able to contain his excitement – Prajit started his very first company - Instarem. Focusing initially on servicing consumer-led transfers, but it was not long before Prajit
built a team to move money for businesses too.

In 2014, with blood, sweat, tears and
a passion for payments – Nium was born.

Today, our extensive network, diverse range of licenses, and powerful APIs work together seamlessly to accelerate our customers’ businesses growth both locally and internationally. We have over 750 team members globally and over 10 offices (and counting) worldwide.
